to the Recovery Support Navigator Apprentice by supporting the apprentice in reaching their employment goals to work effectively as a peer specialist post-apprenticeship.What is a Peer Mentor?
A Peer Mentor in the Peer Mentor Program (PMP) ensures the success of an apprentice in the Magellan Apprenticeship Program (MAP), which is measured by the four component of MAP (training, peer mentorship, career assistance, and paid-on-the-job experience). The Peer Mentor will assist the apprentice to identify potential challenges and barriers for obtaining employment post-apprenticeship and provide support through goal setting, offering employment-related resources, and holding regular meetings with the apprentice to ensure and maximize the apprentice’s employment success and retention.
