Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) Training Program

“Helping people build healthier, happier, and hope-filled tomorrows”

The CRPS designation demonstrates competency in the peer-to-peer recovery-oriented model and increases employment opportunities for paraprofessionals. This free training program includes enhancement courses taught from a multicultural perspective on behavioral health care for rural and under-served populations.  Completion of the program will assist participants in meeting the requirements for certification by the Florida Certification Board.

Eligibility Criteria: Individuals who are eligible for this training program are those who:

  1. Self-identify as a person who has direct personal experience living in recovery for a minimum of 2 years from mental health and/ or substance use conditions.

  2. Self-identify as a person with lived experience as a family member or caregiver to another individual who has or is in recovery from a substance use or mental health condition.

  3. Self-identify as a person with lived experience as a veteran of the armed forces who has been in recovery for a minimum of 2 years from a substance use or mental health condition.


2018 – 2019 Training Schedule

Cohort 1 – Daytona Beach:  November 5 – December 14, 2018
Cohort 2 – Hernando County:  January 8 – February 8, 2019
Cohort 3 – Lake City:  March 12 – April 26, 2019
Cohort 4 – Jacksonville:  May 21 – June 21, 2019
