Motivational Interviewing (MI) is defined as an effective and evidence-based approach to overcoming the ambivalence that keeps many people from making desired changes in their lives (Miller & Rollnick 2002). This workshop will offer behavioral health practitioners an advanced level of MI practical applications though real-world examples and audience participation. Attendees will gain through understanding the best practice use of Motivational Interviewing and receive valuable tools. The workshop will be interactive and thought-provoking with regards to addressing ambivalence and motivating the individuals served to foster motivation for change.

Who Should Attend: This workshop is designed for advanced level clinicians, clinical Supervisors, program managers, Certified Recovery Support Specialists (CRSS), Certified Recovery Peer Specialists (CRPS), Certified Recovery Residence Administrators (CRRA), and clinical staff in substance abuse and mental health agencies, and DCF program staff.
Up to 7 Continuing Education Units/Contact Hours are approved for persons meeting the attendance requirements for Florida Board of Social Work, Marriage, and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling Provider #50-24703.
