Applications Due Tomorrow — Curriculum Development Workgroups

The Peer Support Coalition of Florida (PSCFL) is seeking workgroup members to assist us in developing peer-related training curriculums. Interested candidates should carefully review the information below before submitting an application for consideration. Applications are due by September 18, 2019



PURPOSE OF WORKGROUPS
:

PSCFL has been contracted by Florida’s Department of Children and Families (DCF), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Office, to provide a variety of peer services in Florida, including, but not limited to, the development of new training curriculums and the coordination of peer training activities. We have been tasked to develop the following training curriculums: Facilitator Development Training, Peer Supervisory Training, and CRPS-Youth Training.

We are happy to invite subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to be part of a curriculum workgroup and have the opportunity to review and provide input on one or any of the following curriculums:


WORKGROUP #1
 

Facilitator Development Training – This training curriculum is designed to enhance the presentation skills of CRPS’s endorsed to facilitate HOH, WHAM, or WRAP. This is a 2-day, 16-hour training.

The curriculum will address the following competencies: 

  • Understanding the roles of a facilitator;
  • Presentation development and delivery;
  • Effective teaching techniques; and
  • Creating and organizing training events.


WORKGROUP #2

Peer Supervisory Training – This training curriculum is designed to develop a supervisor’s understanding of a CRPS and their role in the workplace. This is a 1-day, 8-hour training. 

The curriculum will address the following competencies:

  • Navigating self-disclosure;
  • Boundaries, and ethics for peer support;
  • Integration of peer support within multidisciplinary teams;
  • Effective supervision skills for peer support; and
  • Supporting professional and growth development opportunities.  


WORKGROUP #3

CRPS- Youth Training* – This training curriculum will be an addendum to the HOH curriculum and is designed to help individuals relate to peers within the target population specific to youth and individuals with substance use or mental health conditions and enhance their ability to provide assistance and support.  This is a 2-day, 16-hour training. 


The curriculum will address the following competencies:

  • Recovery Support;
  • Advocacy;
  • Mentoring; and
  • Professional Responsibilities.
