The mission of the 2018 Behavioral Health Day at the Capitol is to educate and empower peers and family members to become effective advocates for better behavioral health funding and policies in Florida. Attendees will see first-hand how state government works, learn how to communicate with lawmakers. and meet with policymakers who influence behavioral health laws and funding.

|The Basics of the Florida Capitol||Participants will learn about the Behavioral Health Day agenda, where to park, how to dress, how the Legislature works and what to expect as they advocate for issues around mental and behavioral health.||1/10/18 – 6:00 pm ET|
|How to Talk with Legislators||Participants will learn the protocols of meeting with lawmakers — what to say and how to say it. They’ll also be briefed about policies under discussion at the Capitol relevant to mental and behavioral health.||1/18/18 – 6:00 pm ET|
